Fudge the Staffy
Fudge (the Staffordshire Bull Terrier) is possibly the most affectionate dog I've met. I don't usually photograph animals, but Fudge has already been subjected to my snapping away at her before, and seems to have survived. In fact she makes a really excellent subject, so I was very happy to be able to shoot a few more frames of her on Saturday. She seemed to enjoy the experience. Thanks to Howard and Mandy for letting me photograph her! DaveBulow Photography Blog. River Stour Sunset, near Flatford
Last Sunday my wife, her parents, a friend and I took a walk down in Constable Country, in the area of Flatford, Dedham and East Bergholt. Here is one photo taken that evening. For those who may be interested in the technical info: Camera: Canon EOS 5D with Canon EF 24-105 L USM lens. 5 minutes in PhotoShop DaveBulow Photography Blog. Raindrop Galaxy
An experimental photo today, and yes, this is a photo. Today we were greeted with thunder and lightning. So I decided to add my own with this little off-camera flash experiment. Raindrops on window, lit from below with off-camera flash. For those who may be interested in the technical info: Camera: Canon EOS 5D with Olympus OM Zuiko 50mm f/3.5 Manual focus Macro lens, and 3 macro extension tubes (with OM-EOS bayonet adaptor) Exposure: f/22, 1/200th sec, ISO 200. Lit by: An off camera Canon EX580II flash, ETTL mode, triggered by a Canon ST-E2 infra-red transmitter. 5 minutes in PhotoShop for 'screen blend' diffusion and colouring. DaveBulow Photography Blog. Taffy the Cat
Today's photo blog post is a personal one, really. I couldn't resist sharing this feline portrait of our second cat, Taffy. For those who may be interested in the technical info: Camera: Canon EOS 5D with Olympus OM Zuiko 50mm f/3.5 Manual focus Macro lens (with OM-EOS bayonet adaptor) Exposure: f/22, 1/200th sec, ISO 200. Lit by: An off camera Canon EX580II flash, ETTL mode, reflected & diffused off bathroom door, triggered by a Canon ST-E2 infra-red transmitter. Using natural/available light for this kind of shot would have been nearly impossible. At such a close focus range, even f/22 is still shallow, and I wanted to shoot at ISO200. Cats don't often deliberately seek out soft, directional light of that degree of intensity, especially not on request, so I had to use flash, really. 2 minutes in PhotoShop.
