I cannot claim originality for the above photo in terms of composition, as it is a deliberate 'copy' of one shot in 2001 by Landscape Photographer Ken Rivers. Despite the similarities however, this photograph was taken yesterday. If I can get permission from Ken to show his original alongside it, I will update the blog post to show both. Dedham Sunset Landscape - July 2005
Sunset from Flatford Lane, December 2004
I was looking over some older images the other day (scans from old 35mm films, in fact), when I came across this shot, which I had ignored at the time because of the great difference in contrast between the foreground and background. This time round I had the Photoshop skills to make at least a half-decent picture out of it. Hope you like it, and don't mind me posting it so late! (5 years late, to be precise). Technical Info: Camera: Olympus OM-40 Lens: Probably my old Olympus Zuiko 28mm f/2.8 lens. DaveBulow Photography Blog. Misty Moonlit Flatford, Suffolk
Flatford Morning Collection
More old landscapes this week I'm afraid.
It was early one cold Friday morning, back in December 2004 when I decided to pack the boot of my old MG Metro with my medium format Bronica SQ-A, tripod, and a selection of lenses. It must have been about 5:30am when I left Ipswich and headed down the A12 for the famous Flatford Landscape.
At the time, the only way for me to scan these negatives was using an Epson Perfection 3170 Photo flatbed scanner before 'burning and dodging' in Photoshop.
Technical Details:
Bronica SQ-A + PS 40mm f/4 lens. Fuji Reala 100 film (120). Tripod. Selective burn and dodge layers and toning in Photoshop.
